Most electric vehicles sold today - including the Tesla Model 3, Nissan LEAF, BMW i3, Ioniq, Outlander PHEV and BMW 330e - are supplied with a portable EVSE, which stands for Electric Vehicle Service Equipment; otherwise known as an electric car charger.

These electric car chargers are typically designed to be plugged into a standard 10amp power outlet, such as the ones in your home and garage, so you can easily access power. However, these chargers are also pretty slow and many of our customers are shocked to find that a full charge may take up to 18 hours to complete.

This is generally fine for overnight charging, however when you've got a lot of quick trips during the day a faster electric car charger is an essential piece of kit to have in the boot of your EV.

Please note however, that if you're looking for a portable cable that can charge up to 15amps, a matching power supply will be required.
