Nissan LEAF Instrument Binnacle English Language Conversion
The instrument binnacle (dashboard) on the Nissan LEAF is split into two parts, the top where the speed is displayed and the bottom where things like battery state of charge is displayed. Once imported, all the language used for charge times, range and so on is displayed in Japanese of course. Thankfully we are able to convert to English. For ZE1 models, simply follow our video below to remove the binnacle, then securely protect & package and ship to our address in Clayton South. AZE0 can only be done by bringing EV to our premises in Melbourne.
It’s never been easier to import your very own quality electric car from overseas. Most imported electric vehicles such as the Nissan LEAF, Nissan e-NV200 and Mitsubishi Minicab, originate from Japan and there are many reputable brokers. To find our more about the importation process and the vehicle options available to you head to our Japanese Import Guide page.
The one and very obvious disadvantage of importing an electric vehicle from Japan is that both the instrument binnacle and the head unit are almost entirely in Japanese. Luckily we can convert both units to English either via correspondence or in our workshop in Melbourne. In fact we are the only business in Australia who can convert all Nissan head units and binnacle to English. There are number of different model types but irrespective we can convert them all. If you need help understanding what you have and what you need to do, don’t hesitate to contact us on 1300 70 11 99.
Nissan LEAF CarWings Audio Navigation Maps Conversion
From 2011 to around 2015, Nissan used the Carwings based navigation unit in all its LEAF and e-NV200 electric vehicles. This includes the ZE0 model LEAF. On these high specification models like the Leaf X & G, or the e-NV200 G, the audio/navigation head unit cannot be easily replaced without losing some significant functionality- this includes control of the clock, indication of climate control settings and electric vehicle usage data and settings (such as charge timers and climate timers). However, we have a solution! We can now convert the audio navigation head unit from Japanese into English, without having to remove the unit, meaning you can drop your LEAF in, have it converted, and pick up the same day. This includes full Australian maps and a correctly set GPS-synced clock. Call us on 1300 70 11 99 to discuss further or book in. if you do need to send your head unit to us suggest you reference the video posted below to find out how to do it.
Nissan Connect Audio Navigation Conversion
From 2015 to around 2020, Nissan used the Connect based navigation unit in all its LEAF and e-NV200 electric vehicles. This includes the AZE0 and AZE1 model LEAF.s On the high spec models X & G, or the e-NV200 G, the audio/navigation head unit cannot be easily replaced without losing some significant functionality- this includes control of the clock, indication of climate control settings and electric vehicle usage data and settings (such as charge timers and climate timers).
However, we have a solution! We can now convert the audio navigation head unit from Japanese into English by correspondence, without having to remove the unit. Radio frequency range will also open up to 108MHz for AU stations without needing a band expander. For those with a AZE1 Nissan LEAF you will get Apple Car Play and Android Auto which will enable you to navigate using Google Maps. Japanese audio notifications will need to be turned off in settings.
